In the year 2009 according to Community Based Management System (CBMS), Agusan del Sur has 199,584 people who make up the labor force, mostly engaged in Agriculture and Forestry Sectors. Labor force is increasing at a rate of 9.2% from 2005 to 2009 base on CBMS Data.

Agusan del Sur is abundant with labor force. The province can readily supply needed workforce in the growing economy, whether it is required for management and administration, technical or be it just plain labor.

Several public and private tertiary educational establishments, including a university, add to a pool of a highly educated, highly trainable, English speaking workforce. The province also keeps abreast of technological developments elsewhere, with some of these educational establishments such as STI and AMA Computer College, offering skills development courses in Communication and Information Technology (CIT).
